PIANO SOLO TOUR 2024

The program features a series of original compositions in the form of suites, representing the result of fifteen years of artistic research. This project testifies not only to Artese’s love for the piano but also to his relentless pursuit of a unique, intimate, and reflective musical language.

The fusion of original melodies and a sophisticated harmonic exploration creates a continuum of musical canvases, where the piano evokes a kaleidoscope of atmospheres, colors, and forms. Despite structured writing, Artese leaves vital space for improvisation, making each piece an opportunity for spontaneous creation.

The concert in Termoli not only provides a preview of this extraordinary experience but also officially introduces the upcoming album, “MY BLOND GIRL,” dedicated to his wife Samantha, scheduled for release in March 2024.

Artese shares with the audience his original and unvarnished vision of the piano, 25 years after his first solo piano album, “ITALIAN SKETCHES,” was released in the United States. This journey celebrates the continuity and evolution of a contemporary musician.

“Paraphrasing J.S. Bach, the guiding star for all musicians, this concert is a true musical offering. For a pianist, it is always a challenge to confront one’s instrument, especially in light of the legendary works of Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett, and Brad Mehldau. However, I believe it is an obligation to accept this challenge and reevaluate oneself with courage and dedication, especially in a solo context. There are no veils separating the musician from their instrument; it is a way of exposing oneself, of laying bare. This concert represents for me the offering of a creative act that speaks directly to the listener’s heart rather than their mind. The program selected for this concert reflects my inner world, my passion for composition, and improvisation, the latter understood not only according to jazz standards. It is also a precious opportunity to play with the inexhaustible palette of colors that this wonderful instrument can evoke. I chose to start this tour in Termoli, my hometown, with which I have a special connection and where my musical journey began many years ago.”
